Microsoft is hosting a series of Mars-based technical training events around the world in June and they are stopping in Toronto. It’s also travelling to Montreal and Vancouver.

Mission Mars is a fun, space-themed day-long seminar that utilizes the latest Microsoft tools and services to solve challenging puzzles. Using Azure IoT Hub, Azure Functions and Cognitive Services, your job is to work on the red planet to  “recover the crew and get humanity’s progress back on track”.

This FREE event is designed for “developers who want hands on experience to effectively combine three cloud technologies that will make your next project great.” Previous experience with cloud tools is not essential. The registration page has additional notes about pre-requisites for the event.

09:00 AM – 10:00 AM Exercise 1: Establish a connection using Azure IoT Hub
10:00 AM – 11:30 AM Exercise 2: Remote monitoring using Azure Functions
11:30 AM – 12:30 PM Networking Lunch
12:30 PM – 02:00 PM Exercise 3: Verify crew using Azure Cognitive Services
02:00 PM – 02:30 PM Thank you and goodbye
